Teaching Philosophy
My teaching is rooted in inquiry, critical thinking, and respect for every learner. I strive to create learning experiences that are engaging, relevant, and empowering, where students actively construct understanding, think deeply, and see themselves as capable, valued members of the classroom community.
1
Danielson Domain I - Planning & Preparation
My planning is grounded in Kentucky Academic Standards and designed to ensure all students have access to rigorous, meaningful learning. I develop clear, aligned objectives and intentionally incorporate opportunities for writing, discussion, and critical thinking across content areas. Using assessment data, I anticipate student needs and proactively plan scaffolds, differentiation, and supports—particularly for multilingual learners and students who require additional intervention or enrichment. My preparation reflects both strong content knowledge and a commitment to equitable access for all learners.

Danielson Domain II - Classroom Environment
I cultivate a classroom environment built on respect, consistency, and high expectations. Clear routines and procedures maximize instructional time and create a sense of safety and predictability for students. I prioritize relationship-building and foster a community where all students feel valued, heard, and supported. Through positive behavior supports and a focus on collaboration, I create a space where students are encouraged to take risks, engage with peers, and develop both independence and accountability.

Danielson Domain III - Instruction
My instruction is student-centered, engaging, and responsive. I use a variety of instructional strategies, including structured discourse, collaborative learning, and hands-on activities, to maintain engagement and deepen understanding. I regularly check for understanding through formative assessment and adjust instruction in real time to meet student needs. I emphasize higher-order thinking, encouraging students to analyze, justify, and communicate their ideas clearly, while providing targeted feedback to support continuous growth.

Danielson Domain IV - Professional Responsibilities
I am committed to continuous reflection and professional growth. I actively seek feedback, analyze student outcomes, and refine my practice to improve instruction and student achievement. I collaborate with colleagues to plan instruction, review data, and support shared goals. I also maintain clear and consistent communication with families to support student learning beyond the classroom and build strong school-home partnerships.
